My 13 year old and I completed our PADI open water certification with the team from the shop and had a great experience. Jen and Jeff were patient and encouraging thru our pool and lake sessions. I was a bit anxious about certification and classes with a kiddo who has trouble with multi step directions, but they made the experience positive and fun. I highly recommend them if you are interested in dive. We look forward to future dives with the Playground Dive Shop family!

This is the only shop in KC I would recommend for SCUBA training and gear. I’ve been diving for over 25 years and recently got my son certified. PG Dive went out of their way to really understand his comfort level, what he hoped to accomplish and how he learned. From the owner to our instructor, they were always focused on what was best for my son and where and how to help him reach his goals. There was a “come join in this fun of SCUBA” mentality vs. other dive shops I’ve experienced. They made his certification training very comfortable. They are the most student-centric shop in KC.
My husband got scuba certified and admittedly I didn't think I had it in me but Jen was so helpful and supportive. She never stopped answering my millions of crazy questions and encouraged me that I could do it....a few months later I'm certified and loving diving!! Wish I'd have done it 20 years ago. Can't wait to get back in the water. The thought of it is far scarier as the reality of diving is an unexplainable freeing experience that you will fall in love with. I've now become a crazed dive traveler hoping to see all the underwater wonders I can!! So many dive places to explore and too little time!!
Love the Playground Dive Shop vibe! It’s the care, knowledge and personalities that make it special. I am saying this as a vendor who deals with a lot of dive shops - Jennifer cares, is continually learning and trying new things to enhance her customers’ experiences.
