What a beautiful woodland. It was extremely busy on the day we went but still managed to lose ourselves away from the crowds. My only criticism would be that I feel that the gruffalo trail should be better signed as it was a little confusing where pathways crossed (we didn't have a map but managed to to find one on Google images). We will be returning again throughout the spring and summer

A lovely place for a stroll/hike. Even if the weather isn't too great. (Would recommend getting a map. If you have an awful sense of direction, like me)

Great place for hiking, walking, exploring, grabbing a coffee or ice cream and spending quality time with family. It is a lovely park with so much to see and do, for the whole family. I totally recommend for the weekend when you want a nice relaxing time. Beautiful for the kids to explore and play.

Thorndon Country park has been a godsend during lockdown. We can enjoy the countyside, the trees, the squelchy mud and the freedom and pleasure that it brings. I exercise my dog, along with many others, whilst walking with my support bubble. It allows me to let go of the stress. It is so enjoyable to see families outside, children enjoying the Gruffalo trail and the wooden structures made from branches and stucks. It is a little bit of calm at this unusual time. Big SIGH hmmmm. Lovely

I LOVED the HILLTOP VIEW! I really like the fact that there is a lot you can do here. Whether you want to walk through the forest, around the lake, across the fields, or you just want to admire the view on the top of the hill, there's a lot you can see and do. Thordon Country Park has changed overtime especially with the BBQ rules and the carparking charges. This in my opinion has made it a bit more difficult to go here. But apart from this, it's still a really decent place to go.
