Round trip of 5 hours, from Caernarfon to Begelert, with about an hour and half to explore Begelert, was delightful. Stream loco.. . Ex South African Railways... chugged slowly through the countryside to enable you to take in the breathtaking views of mountains, lakes and fields of sheep and cattle. Obeying social distancing rules, you sit in every other bay in the coaches, which are spotlessly clean, with the seats upholstered in red with diamond shape logo FR, WHR. We had the Gelert hampers, (9.50) filled with rolls, salad, crisps, welsh cakes, flower decorated flapjack, fruit and a soft drink, absolutely delicious... Made for lunch and afternoon tea! Thank you to all the staff for making it a great day.

Had a great time on the heritage train (even the rain couldn't spoil the glorious scenery and great atmosphere). The covid measures ensure carriages are not too full and there are good safety measures at the stations. I fully recommend the hampers that can be purchased online when booking tickets. Everything is freshly made and the hampers are put together on the day. You can choose you drink on collection and can swap any item as required. The cakes are especially delicious! We had a regular, vegetarian and vegan hamper and there were all equally satisfying. Cannot wait to be able to return.

Perfect early Autumn excursion on the new \Pullman\ luxury day out package from Caernarfon to Beddgelert. Superb lunch hamper prepared by Sara, and then a selection of 'sweet treats' for the return journey. With discrete perspex panels installed, the staff adhered to Covid-19 regulations without making it take anything from the experience. Thank you to all.

Lovely day trip on the Sara's express. Covid precautions in high measure and cleanliness and staff diligence in evidence. The ride was stunning, the Welsh moutains rising majestic. Over the waters of several lakes. Thanks for a fab day out.

What an enjoyable ride. Return trip can take most of a day (depending on how soon you start) but absolutely well worth doing. Snowdonia scenery at it's best. Very good views including the old slate mines.
