The entire experience was a laid-back, welcoming & warm one at Stock & Barrel. From the moment we arrived to join our party, we knew we were in for a treat. The menu fixe for Valentine's Day was incredible, although we stuck to the standard rotating fare. Our cocktails were top-notch (my fave being the Mezcal Rusty Nail) and we did appreciate that the front of house allowed BYOB, with a 25 corkage fee. This was such a fun evening with family, & we look forward to coming back to try the new, seasonal entrees on the Spring menu.

Some say \elevated comfort food\ sounds cliche, but I don't care. That's the kind of food I like, so it made sense to have my first DFW Restaurant Week meal of 2020 at Stock and Barrel. I called just before they opened at 5 p.m. and asked if they were serving the meals \to-go.\ Scott said sure and sounded as excited to have me order as I was to try this food. He took my order over the phone and we set a time for me to pick it up. I arrived early, so there was a short wait for my food. I got a good look at the beautiful space. The design is eclectic, stylish, yet comfortable and welcoming. For my 3-course meal, I ordered the crispy truffled oyster mushrooms, the wagyu meatloaf and the sticky toffee cake. I also ordered the heart of watermelon salad. The salad is beautifully presented despite being served in a foil tin. The watermelon was juicy and sweet, and was complemented by fresh tomatoes and feta. I loved the mix of flavors. The mushroom dish made me wish for smell-o-vision so I could share the fantastic aroma. Despite a 25-minute drive home, they were still crispy, and the tart and creamy aioli served on the side was delicious. The wagyu meatloaf is what drew me to Stock and Barrel, and it did not disappoint. Both the meatloaf and the sauce that came on the side were both slightly spicy. I thought I detected a hint of maple in the peppercorn butter sauce. I didn't see or taste any bacon in the \bacon hash.\ But it reminded me of the skillet fried potatoes my grandmother made, and that's a very good thing!. They were very flavorful and a perfect accompaniment to the meatloaf. The sticky toffee cake was tender and very moist. I thought the caramel topping and Chantilly cream made it too sweet. The bites with plenty of sea salt in them were the best. All in all, I'd give Stock and Barrel straight A's for food, style, and service. I would willingly eat through their entire menu of \elevated comfort food.
This was a really great dining experience. The quality of the service is what really makes it worth going. Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, with great recommendations, both on and off the menu. I highly recommend the smoked old fashioned if you drink. Go. Experience their menu and their great service, you won't be disappointed.
This place is a great find! The flavor profiles are impeccable. My husband had the fried spaghetti and I enjoyed the petite sirloin. Yum! The service was great also! We were very well taken care of.
The food was so good here we tried the meatloaf and the ribs and both were great. I would highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a nice place to eat.
