The restaurant offers some traditional Laotian fare. As we rarely come across this, we tried the Lao sausage and beef jerky. The jerky was not tough as the name suggest, but spongey like tod mun. Both were delicious. We also had the tom yum shrimp soup, the deep fried red snapper, and pad thai. Look forward to returning to try the other menu items.

This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants I have been too in my life, it is literally heaven. I get the beef pho and shrimp fried rice, I would highly recommend. The service is great and i go there every week. Support small business!!!

Very disappointed with the experience my boyfriend and I had here. We ordered for the first time (pineapple fried rice, pad kee mao, chicken wings and fried shrimp) and went to pick up the food. Although the fried shrimp was decent, everything else was extremely underwhelming. The food was literally tasteless. The traditional thai seasoning and taste you expect was lacking. I had to put the fried rice and noodles on the stove to add my own seasonings for flavor. The fried chicken wings were tiny and there was nothing special about them, they were also over fried so it was way too crispy. We don’t plan to order from here again.

Delicious food with a thoughtful blend of spices. Everything I had was well balanced and cooked to perfection. Portion sizes are generous as well. If you prefer spicy food, Xay's disappoints. Although I requested as spicy as they would make it, entrees appeared with only a smattering of mild chilis.

We visited Xay’s Kitchen on our half way to Kent with extreme hunger and felt satisfied with their service and food. The exterior is humble and easy to miss. The owner was super friendly, welcoming and introduced their menu in details. We are familiar with Thai food but not the cuisine from Lao and she recommended us to try some authentic Laotian dishes. We ordered Xay’s Sampler which included 5 different appetizers, Nam Khao and Thai tea. The food was amazingly delicious and appetizing in this hot & humid weather. Our favorite was the Hai Gun from the Sampler and there is also a single order option on the menu. The Hai Gun was fried, made with shrimp, pork wonton and wrapped in rice paper. It was fried well with crispy layer and is super juicy and tender inside. It’s similar to fried shrimp roll but it’s the best one I have ever had in the US. The owner mentioned dine-in will be allowed from June 17th. We will definitely visit again in the near future even though the drive is 2.5 hours for us from Queens.
