Don't have anything to do with this company. I had a cold call from the Dundee branch. They wanted to inspect my inverter unit as I had it installed October 2012. I accepted a visit from the rep at 12.30 that day. He told me that my inverter wasn't probably working as well as it should and asked me what my FIT payments were. I told him 600 on average per year. He said my payments should be a lot more than that and suggested getting the inverter replaced. After 2 hours, the quote was for almost 6000. I told the rep I wanted time to think about it and to discuss it with my son. I live alone and I am a pensioner. He then got on his phone to his boss, and then offered me 500 off the price if I signed now. This raised alarm bells with me I'm afraid, because if they could take 500 off the price for me that day, then why was the price not 5500 in the first place. This is how unscrupulous double glazing companies used to try and sell you windows. If this is the way they try to get you to sign up, then it stinks. I talked it over with my son, and he looked through the paperwork regarding my solar panels. He compared the yearly total of my FIT payments from installation up until that day. He pointed out that my payments have stayed more or less the same every year since installation, so if my inverter wasn't working efficiently, then surely my payments would have reducing over the years. They have stayed constant. That suggests to me that there is nothing wrong with the inverter that I have. In other words, they were trying to sell me something for nearly 6000 which I did not require. I was disgusted by their sales tactics. They must think that because I am a pensioner that my head buttons up the back. I certainly would not recommend this company to anyone. Steer clear of them.

Was booked in for an interview with Claire in person at the office around 1pm, when arrived the people at reception said that’s when they got for lunch for 2 hours come back then! After reading reviews of how customers have been treated clearly dodge a bullet. _ The call before being booked in for the interview was as really informal and unprofessional.
Noticed a dip in my solar panel performance recently and agreed to have the guys from Zest come out and take a look for me. The panels had been badly put up originally and were partially shaded most of the day, would have cost too much to move them but with the new smart inverter they've set me up with I'm getting the most out of all parts of the panel that aren't shaded. Already noticed an increase in the feedback tariff payments. Quick and efficient installation, very impressed
I mistakenly gave this firm one star if I could I would give them minus .We were talked into getting an upgrade to our solar panels and we specifically asked for some sort of barrier be fitted around the panels to prevent pigeons nesting under them. The job was done in September and we are still fighting to have the work completed .Every time we phone Zest we are dealt with by a very abrupt woman who tells us there is nothing she can do and someone will phone us back. After numerous calls to customer care (getting the same response every time) we have yet to receive a call from Zest. If anyone is considering solar panels I would strongly advise giving Zest a very wide berth as you will get no help if things go wrong. \Cowboy firm \ describes Zest perfectly. We are now nervous as to the standard of work carried out as there is no way of checking as we have no access to the roof (I am a pensioner) How the management and owners of Zest can sleep at night I don't know because I can't due to the upset and worry this firm has caused me
Following a cold call, I had the rep from Zest Energy on-site for about 90 minutes trying to convince me the system I have is a fire risk, inefficient, etc .. and that I should upgrade to the Solar Edge system for \only\ 4750 (after discounts, referral bonus, scrap-age value for my old inverted etc). Due diligence proved to me that the chance of the inverter exploding (if properly and professionally installed) is practically none... that the inverter I have (Aurora Power-One) may have may still be in warranty and that, should a fault develop, ABB (who now own Aurora) are very quick to fix any issues. Also to replace the inverter would cost me 900 fully fitted with a different (highly rated) Solar Installer in the area. Zest battery prices, are also a lot higher than the other suppler I contacted, and they took the time to discuss my situation and said that it isn't worth my spending the money on a battery right now because it probably wouldn't pay for itself in the life of the battery. I wouldn't recommend them ... they seem to be out to maximize the sale, while trying to make you grateful to spend the money.
