Dr. Lewis has a very quiet non-excitable demeanor, but don't for a minute think that he isn't caring. He probably saved my life around 15 years ago when after a surgery to remove a ruptured appendix, I developed a life threatening abdominal infection. I spent two weeks in the hospital and couldn't shake it. Neither my surgeon nor my regular physician could figure out what to do next. It was decided that Dr. Lewis should be called in for a consultation. At that time, he would sit down with a pad of paper and a pen (pre-computer era). He would ask very specific questions and take careful notes. He is an infectious disease specialist and the man is absolutely brilliant. After prescribing a combination of synthetic antibiotics I was finally on my way to improvement within several days. My case is not by any means unique. I too am in the medical field and am keenly aware of his reputation. Quite frankly, I don't care what style of clothes he wears or whether or not he's a social conversationalist. I am more interested in his level of competence. If you are overly concerned with your co-pay, get a better insurance policy. But if you need an honest and intelligent infectious disease specialist to help you with a serious problem, see Dr. Lewis. He's magnificent.

If he did not charge for the consult, he still would be too expensive. That bad of a doctor. He does not look at you, keeps typing in his laptop, until he decides to answer phone calls and texts he keeps getting. A guy who should have retired already because he makes it look like he hates being at the practice.
