While the initial drop off and pickup in LA went perfectly, transporting out of state had to be scheduled twice because they ‘missed it’. Trying to locate my POD when I was ready for pickup was difficult, taking 3 times before it was ‘scheduled’, the last time while my movers waited 45 minutes. Since movers were paid hourly, that cost an extra 200. Very bad logistics causing much frustration and no apologies.

We left our things in storage for two years as we were waiting to buy a home. We recently bought a home and took our things out of the POD two years later. My items were kept in good condition and I loved the fact that the storage unit came to me. I didn't have to worry about getting a uhaul truck and taking things out of public storage dark hallways....it was there on the street for me to unload. Also, they just come and pick it up when I'm done. I would use it again in the future when we buy a bigger home!

Re. Los Angeles POD facility in Van Nuys / Panorama City. My move was scheduled in advance and I was given a window of 1pm-4pm and they didn’t show up. I called every hour and nobody could tell me when they would arrive. My last call that day was at 9pm and the recording said they were closed. Nobody ever contacted me. I called the next morning at 6am and the agent said they’ll be there the following day.....2 days AFTER my window!! I cancelled immediately. The experience was exhausting and I can’t believe they are allowed to operate this way. it’s so easy these days to send a text, an email or phone call, but I got nothing. Never did I ever receive a call. Horrible experience. Never again.

While my overall experience of receiving the pod was fine, my experience with this particular location was despicable. In the midst of a pandemic, I was moving across the country. I was scheduled to load my pod at the facility. They never called to confirm or send me an email ahead of my delivery date to ensure that I received all the necessary information. Instead, they called me at 1:30 pm to see if I was still coming and to alert me that they close at 3 pm! Who calls an hour and a half before closing?!? Call me the day before or the morning of. The manager then proceeded to say “I’m sorry you took too long to load up your truck, but you can’t be here past 3.” When I told her that we were just finishing up and would be there by 2:10 ish, she instructed me that I must leave the property by 3. Pretty unrealistic, given that they knew I had a 16’ pod to load up. She told me that “her guys have been here since 5 am, so I should have come then” - I’m sorry ma’am, my local U-Haul, doesn’t open until 9, so what do you expect me to do?! All and all, the manager at this site was so rude to me and heard me crying and panicking on the other end and did nothing. Didn’t apologize - just told me I should have known and that corporate should have told me, which they didn’t. (She also told me that they posted their hours on their front door...not helpful. WHO CLOSES AT 3 pm ON A FRIDAY?!? And did you expect me to drive to your location ahead of time to view your sign? Really?!) My suggestion to this location is that they need send a confirmation email or call 24-48 hours before the scheduled loading day, to ensure that everyone knows the hours, policies, and any other important info.
