Been here many times and absolutely love it. Come for a hike, come for a picnic and let the kids play. First time coming here with snow on the ground. It was cold but the trail up to the monument was accessible and still easy to walk even with the snow on the ground.

Nice park with great views. Access to the Appalachian Trail. Park is well maintained. Historical significance of the Washington Monument.

Great, small state park, history tidbits along the walk, nice view, parking area has plenty of picnic tables spaced out with grills, large open grass area playground, water station bathrooms. Saw lots of happy dogs being walked. Careful on narrow roads, which have potholes.

Access inside the monument is closed due to COVID-19 but the views are beautiful. The walk to/from the monument is only about 10 minutes each way on a well maintained path. If you’re passing through the area, it’s a good spot to stop for a bathroom break and to stretch your legs.

What a great place for a great hike and workout, the beginning part of the trail is nice an easy to the monument then you can go to the Appalachian train which has some nice steps clean and well marked.
