We found the experience quite good. The bikes unlocked for us when we followed the instructions (put in the customer code first, then the code pin). The bikes are heavy with three gears, and they weren't in perfect shape (some rubbing of breaks on my bike) but that's expected for something like this. They are also a bit small for anyone over 6ft in height, but the seat is adjustable. We rode to Palavas on them, and that was maybe a little bit too long on a bike not fitted to you, but for shorter rides, or ones where you do multiple stops, they would do just fine. The cost is great, with the first 2 hours free, and after that only 0.50 euros per hour. Returning the bikes were easy, and we just waited to make sure the screen on the bikes said the return was okay. They do hold 150 euros per bike to make sure that the bikes are returned safely, so make sure you do that. All in all, I would definitely recommend them!

Their bicycle station has a problem, I unblock the bike but I can not take it out, as well as return it. The bike is stuck, and I have to pay 15.5 euros for their services error. Thieves!!!! C'EST LE VOLEUR!!

I'm astonished at the prevalence of negative reviews for this service, especially those alleging things like fraud (where Velomagg would keep the deposit)! Perhaps things have changed quite a bit? I found it to work pretty well as far as bikeshares go. While it's true that some stations can't print receipts, the station will warn you of that before you commit. The device at the station also support multiple languages. Our experience: - try to subscribe at one station, it wouldn't accept our credit card - walk 400m to the next station, it accepted our credit card - we got a code good for 2 bikes for 7 days and a hold for 300 Euros was placed on our card - we used the code to unlock two bikes, biked to the beach and back (30km, 4 hours) - 7 days later, the rental period was over, the hold was removed and we were charged 4.50 Euros for 9 hours of bike use (1 bike x 4 hours x 0.50 Euros/hour, 1 bike x 5 hours x 0.50 Euros/hour) - we were notified of the final charge via SMS, since we had registered with a local phone # Overall, this was a pretty good experience. The bikes worked well enough. The brakes on one squealed when applied harshly, but it was serviceable.

Do not use, they claim that you haven't returned the bike and then charge you 150. They do not speak in English when you try and clarify they just ignore you.

Looking for 2 bikes to get us to the beach on our holiday. First station - no bikes. Second station - 2 bikes left, only one with working panel. Third station - 2 bikes left. Do all the technical stuff then take off to find both bikes unusable. Fourth station - finally found 2 working bikes after an hour of trying. Uncomfortable, clunky, heavy, zero fun factor. Sigh.
