River Rose Cruises is the perfect way to experience the Hudson River Valley, the crew discusses the history and some of the best kept secrets of the area all while music plays on the scenic view. Normally, I have motion sickness and felt fine during this whole experience. I called the cruise line a week before we boarded asking if it was okay if our group can purchase tickets while on the boat and they said it was fine, you can also bring lunch with you on the boat. Which is nice to get takeaway from the nearby restaurants and eat on the boat. The staff was phenomenal, and even recognized my voice from the phone, when one of my party members was running a little bit late they held the boat until they arrived. They have some of the best hospitality I've experienced in New York. Definitely a must do for any travelers itinerary.

The cruise was fine. Nothing special. No regrets doing it. Once is definitely enough. Good views of Bannerman Island. Crew was polite. It can get uncomfortably hot. Also, the River Rose is showing her age. She could use some TLC..... cobwebs in the windows and I had to kill a wasp in the seating area.

This was my second time on the cruise. A little disappointed this time around. We surprised a close friend with a small group of guys for his bachelor party. The website was down so we were unable to purchase tickets online. We get to the boat and surprised our friend with the cruise but again had issues with the credit card machine they were using to process the tickets. They kept trying the cards and wireless credit card service wasn't working as it uses cellular data. The bartender was nice, reassured us that it was fine however she kept voicing concerns about her relatives who were also the owner/captains. As we departed the credit card authorizations went through and we were having a decent time. The boat itself is nice and goes to Cold Spring and back. We spent about 250 in drinks for everyone total. Heading back to port, a friend was called into the captain's bridge and questioned about why our group did not pay for tickets and was interrogated. He told the captain that this was not case and offered to show receipts. Not only do I find this inappropriate, how you reconcile your funds is your responsibility. We spent an easy 350-400 on that trip. This was someones memorable day which almost turned bad because the crew assumed we were not paying customers. Please organize yourselves in a better fashion, I speak the facts and hope this does not happen to anyone in the future.
