If you have experience with the art go somewhere else. The gut who owns the place is really good at what he dose. You won't be taught by him though. One instructed had so much ego it's ridiculous and the other couldn't pin me to the floor so I left. I payed the extra months money that they want after you leave. Then demanded it again and threatend court action against me. Beware of this

I thoroughly enjoy my classes with the Shudokan and find Aikido has really strengthened my core and coordination. It is a graceful martial art that I would certainly recommend. The Sensei's are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful, encouraging you at all times. I would highly recommend the Academy and Aikido.

Aikido may make for reasonable exercise but is pretty useless as a form of self-defence. It relies heavily on cooperation from your \opponent\ making it more of a dance than a realistic scenario. There are numerous examples of its low effectiveness against real attackers and other martial arts on YouTube which I would advise people to research before signing up. They run a very slick sales pitch and sign up process to take your money. They also like to send letters demanding payment after you leave - beware.

In two short years the Shudokan team have made a profound difference to me and the way I now choose to view and approach life. Physically and mentally (and as an over 50 student) I’m in the best shape of my life and making sound progress in learning new skills. I highly recommend taking up Aikido and to get the best training you can from the team of instructors here at the Shudokan Black Belt Academy.
