I really like that peaceful place where the river, on both sides is a great frontier against the noise and the city. Perfect for reading or loving and romantic couples. Bring the champagne. Go under the tree. Enjoy this Oasis

Beautiful little park!! I went here in autumn and tree was changing colors. Calm and nice place.
Erected in tribute to Henri IV and his numerous mistresses, the Square du Vert Galant obtained the ‘Espace vert écologique' (ecological green space) label in 2007. And with good reason, the square has an impressive fauna and flora considering it is situated in the centre of the capital. Consequently, the Square du Vert Galant has become one of the most popular places for romantic strolls where loving couples enjoy wonderful views of the Seine, the Musée du Louvre and the Hôtel de la Monnaie.
Best place to enjoy from a snack while watching boats
This little 'secret' garden gem is at the tip of the island. It's a tranquil and serene area where one could picnic or relax with some wine. Not a lot of people hang out there which is great. I added a picture, not of what the square in general looks like because there's already many pictures on here, but of a particular significant rock that's located near the entrance of the Square on the grass. If you are French Canadian, more precisely 'Quebecois', this commemorative rock will be an interesting piece of knowledge for you. Click on it, zoom in and read it.
The tiny Square du Vert-Galant is located at the western tip of Ile de la Cite, just below the Equestrian statue of King Henri. This small park was bought by the city of Paris and converted in public space in 1884. While being a very small area, Square du Vert-Galant is quite atmospheric and makes a great little spot to grab a park bench and rest your feet. It is a particularly nice place to visit after spending a few hours in nearby Notre Dame Cathedral and Saint Chapelle, also found at Ile de la Cite. In addition to the nice green space, there is a bit of interesting history to this square as well. This is the supposed spot where two Order of the Temple dignitaries, Jacques de Molay and Geoffroy de Charnay were executed in March 1314. You can read about this on a plague, found on the middle pillar that forms part of Pont Neuf bridge, just below the King Henri statue. Square du Vert-Galant is also the location where you can board some of the Seinne River boat cruises that leave from under Pont Neuf.
Perfection. A comfortable little square with plenty of seating, on the river and tucked away from the busy city We came for a little picnic and enjoyed our experience It was a beautiful place to relax and read a book, or people watch While there were a lot of people in the area they were all respectfully quiet and kept to themselves Leaving the square we were rested and relaxed
Great view of the oldest stone bridge in Paris (pont neuf - ironically named) and great riverside chill spot for breaking out a bottle of rouge and some saucisson for an outside evening watching the boats go by. Bonus: usually a great sunset spot. Double bonus: before the French kings moved to the Louvre as their principal residence, this used to be the royal family's private garden... For a reason...
