He went above and beyond finding the right Typewriter for me! Very Friendly and VERY knowledgeable. Look no further for your vintage Typewriter. If he doesn’t have one he will find one! Excellent experience! Thank you!

Duane (from Phoenix Typewriter) does an amazing job! He serviced an old Underwood Olivetti Lettera 22 that I found at a local thrift store and went above and beyond! The price was reasonable considering all the effort he put into it (from cleaning type slugs and bars too flushing and lubricating rails).

Duane is very friendly and knowledgable about typewriters and their repair & maintenance. I took in a 1940s Royal for a tune up, and had it back within a week - he even delivered it! His shop has lots of great type writers in fantastic condition for sale (as well as the ones he's repairing). He took the time to explain the history of the machine, and how to use it, too. You can tell he enjoys doing this. The prices were very reasonable, and I'll now recommend him to anyone requiring typewriter service, or knowledge!

Duane is the best! Very knowledgeable and helpful with a trove of YouTube videos maintaining the (almost lost) art of typewriter repair. He supplied an obscure 1920's part to me, 5,000 miles away in Scotland, and even showed me online how to replace it. A real gentleman and highly recommended.

Duane is phenomenal. Extremely knowledgeable and confident. This is a craft he has refined and is a true master at service and repair. You will be grateful having any work completed by him. Thanks.

I am a typewriter collector and very amateur repair wannabe. I always learn something from Duane, whether it’s from watching his YouTube repairs or chatting with him in typewriter forums and messages. He really knows his stuff! The Phoenix metro area is lucky to have such an experienced and talented repair person. I wish I lived closer so I could bring machines in and learn more about the trade. Duane is courteous, has a great sense of humor, has great taste in music (from what I’ve heard in the background of his videos), and he’s got the all of talents that you want in a repair person — ability and experience combined with the creativity of a maker who knows just how to fix and form things so they will work. You lucky folks in AZ have a real treasure here. Avail yourselves of this! Typewriter repairmen are few and far between these days.

Always courteous, knowledgeable and willing to help someone get a machine they love working. Very highly recommended, he got me the part I needed, speedily sent to me, and even checked backs to make sure I knew if it fit & whether I succeeded in replacing the part. He has also proven a most pivotal member of the online Antique typewriter Collector’s group community online. A naysayer left a bad review asking, who types on a typewriter anyways... had no business leaving a negative review for a business they A. Had no intention of utilizing, and about a business they haven’t directly had dealings. As a typist, poet, and typewriter appreciation collector, I would entrust this company with any of my typewriters. I don’t collect to stare, I collect to use, appreciate, and continue the culture, legacy, and longevity of typewriters. Thank you, Phoenix Typewriter.
