I have been trying to get some type of assistance with my rent, but unfortunately I don't meet their requirements. After talking with the service coordinator, and submitting what I could I was disheartened at the fact that I didn't qualify for the other program. The perimeters for both programs are pretty much identical. I released two pieces of paperwork hoping that it would be considered for review. If a candidate could submit a viable source of income such as (SNAP,CHILD SUPPORT, DISABILITY, UNEMPLOYMENT ETC) then it was my understanding that I could qualify. Needless to say, she thought that \this wasn't the best program for me\. Wait a second! The coordinator already knew my situation before suggesting the WIN FUND to me. Why put me through all that fecal matter just to tell me no? Smh. I was beyond livid. Most of these programs aren't set up to help everyone that's in need. The criteria weeds out a lot of people that are suffering due to whatever crisis (personally/professionally) that's taking place. If you don't live within the city limits, aren't being sued for back rent, or have a steady stream of income they won't help you. I'm sure I'm not the only who feels left out. Don't give people false hope. Use some professional courtesy, and remain straightforward. People don't have time for games when their livelyhoods are at stake, and some are needing a one time hand up.

Great place to contact when looking for services in the city & surrounding areas. Can sign up for child care help, currently doing tax preparation (call 211 for appt), grants for emergency help (up to 500), bus pass program, women's health info, and many other options to help residents in Allegheny County! Nice, friendly, and caring staff. Easy to find location downtown. Help in time of need (for women, children, families, AND men). Recommend.

I am so disappointed in the Ywca organization. Not only did they take all of the caring and courageous women that worked for them for granted but they also failed us all the way up till the last day. The women who stayed till the end to make sure that families continued to have child care where treated like the exact opposite of what the mission is. Staying throughout the process to meet “bonus criteria”, waiting till the last min to give us the bonus we were promised only to have them be incorrect for everyone. Today we received our last checks and even then everyone was short from what was promised. You failed us, you failed THE WOMEN you like to promote that you advocate for. I’m sorry to have to put this up but someone needs to see and look into this organization. There is so much to be said and needs to be to brought to light. I am not alone in this all of the wonderful women who I had the pleasure to work along are suffering too. We won’t be deterred from our mission as a group.

Fun for indoor volleyball but the ceiling in the gym has a lot of low hanging obstacles.
