We bought our house through Raine and Co three years ago and had a positive experience with the team at the time. Through loyalty we decided to list our property with the company again. The first warning sign should have been that both our original contacts had left the business but we continued and listed. We listed at the recommended valuation, which we felt was high but the agent had confidence we would be able to sell. Two months later we had several viewings but no offers. Our agent then changed and the new agent told us the reason he thought we hadn’t had a sale was that our valuation was high. We explained where this value had come from. Embarrassing. In all the experience was full of basic errors and a lack of communication. Several viewings didn’t happen. Our final viewing we left the property to give more room for distancing etc. The viewer didn’t show to the booking and the agent left the door wide open at the back of our house and didn’t call to tell us the viewing had ended. The agents were quick to take no for an answer and showed very little urgency in getting a sale. Our error was accepting the high valuation only for the agents to quickly tell us we need to reduce the price. It was almost as if the team inflated the initial valuation to win the listing. It also seemed that the second agent hadn’t been given a mobile phone so feedback for viewings and warnings that viewings had been canceled wasn’t possible unless the agent was in the office. It all felt very amateur. The only positive part was the listing photos which were very high quality. The most efficient communication was when we gave notice to end our agreement. We were quickly reminded that if any of the viewers bought from another agent in a set time then we would be liable to pay Raine & Co a commission. Avoid.
