All the way from London to Turin for the nicest vegan food :-) Everything was super delicious, my friend and I had a lovely lunch ended by a luxurious vegan dessert. Eduardo was super nice and welcoming! Highly recommended!

Eduardo Ferrante is an extremely talented and versatile individual who also happens to be a chef. Eating here is a comprehensive experience that joins taste, eyesight and smell. I will return every time I’m in town, and I plan to return to Turin just to go eat there again

We’ve had a number of good experiences at vegan restaurants and L’Orto was another one. It’s located in a side street bedecked with pretty hanging umbrellas and is close to the main bridge over the river Po. As is often the case the decor is interesting and the staff interested. The food was deliciously tasty and served generously. I would have given five stars but they’d run out of their one non-alcoholic beer and there was no non-alcoholic wine. This is a common failing at these otherwise heathy lifestyle restaurants.

The burger was decent but the appetizers and the moussaka clearly lacked seasoning. In any case, all servings were way too small for the price. Are vegetables made of gold that we only found 4 potato chips next to our burger and a paper-thin layer of eggplants in our moussaka? As long as chefs mistake \vegan\ with \tree branch eater on a diet\, the stereotype that vegan food is a tasteless fad for eco hipsters will endure... EDIT: It seems the owner is completely missing the point and dismisses any criticisms with pedantic \you were looking for fast food\ answers. For the record: we do NOT like or want fast food. We've eaten several gourmet vegan dishes over the world and went to your establishment expecting a gourmet experience. This is precisely the point of our review. The owner seems to advertise his cuisine as very refined, flavorful and original... it wasn't. Don't get me wrong it wasn't fast food, but come on... moussaka, vegan burger and fried zucchini flowers are not exactly culinary revolution. And you know what? Non-original food with good products and good pricing would have been perfectly fine! The issue is that we had the dishes of a standard restaurant (and not particularly flavorful, even with palates used to gourmet experiences) and the price of a gourmet restaurant. It seems to me that the owner as a classical case of Chef's ego, spending too much time experimenting in the kitchen, and not enough time actually TASTING his dishes and putting himself in the shoes of the customer to see if the dishes are properly balanced in terms of flavors, or reasonably priced. You having fun in the kitchen and enjoying the theory of cooking and the customer experience are two different things! So my constructive criticism is this: don't get complacent, check your ego, and listen to demanding customers, not tourists who will be happy with whatever you put in their mouths.

Great choice of dishes, fantastic colours and balance of the different plant based ingredients. I can't give more than 5*, so I \only\ give 5. Can't wait to go back!
