DVIS and all of the services that they offer are amazing and the staff ALL have compassion and heart for what they do. It’s no easy job to have to hear, see and feel what others feel but the Staff all do it with compassion and understanding and it shows.

I was there a hour and no one really helped me... I called around for over a hour... All the shelters pretty much said no... I ended bck with my husband... So idk... Maybe next time they can help me... But I'm not holding my breath

Updated review. I received and am still receiving the help that I needed from DVIS. I don't know where I would be without them. They also insured that my children had a Christmas last year. If you can donate to the cause, please do. The help received through this program is priceless.

You probably would be better off staying with family or someone than using this for help. The help here is almost non-existent. What help there is is more generic. There is a shelter, but it is for basically keeping you away from an abusive situation for a matter of days. Do not expect much help beyond that. If you can imagine employees who go to a job just because they needed a job and a paycheck then you have a better picture of the sort of the staff. In general, they do not care. As a result there is disorganization and an extreme lack of caring. The shelter consists of getting a bed and meals. Beyond that there is not much else. You are on your own. Do not expect help for dealing with abuse suffered. Your situation could get worse. You would probably get more support by staying with others. There are other places that are better at helping those who have gone through abuse. Better educated and more trained with better resources, and more compassion, which is something very much lacking here. If you want help with abuse, seek help elsewhere.

Your very afraid to even go and report your abuse situation. They promise to be there and protect you. They promise to provide financial support, by way of reimbursing medical costs and lost wages that occurred as a result of the domestic violence. IT'S ALL BS! I was brave and cooperated. My husband is now in prison. But they still denied my claim stating that I never cooperated. BS! So now my husband is in prison, I've lost over half of my income as a result. My family and my community have shunned me as well. Now I'm alone with no support. This program is designed to help the D.A. look good by getting convictions. They do not care about the victims AT ALL! I wish I could go back in time. I hate this place! If I could have given zero stars I would have. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.
