One of the best fish soup I've had in Singapore! They're actually open at 10am instead of 11am. Highly recommend coming earlier to beat the queue, it can get pretty long 11.30 onwards (30-45 mins wait).

Was at Wei Xin Fish soup stall early at 11 am to beat lunchtime crowd! The "batang" fish slices were fresh, naturally sweet as in fresh fish sweetness and thick! Soup was clear devoid of msg, sugar or too much salt. Very tasty. I added chopped salted vegetables. Not salty as I can tell the salt in the salted veg was washed away and boiled maybe twice to remove the saltiness. Being greedy since the place is far from home, I added one dark sauce braised egg, taupok and taukua. In the neighbourhood right in the middle of a nearby playground stands a majestic tree with scattered red flowers on its very dried branches. Wonder what the name of such a beautiful tree is.
Value for money. Soup is clear and tasty. 3 for a bowl of batang fish and 5 for a bowl of red grouper. Expect to queue for at least 20 minutes.

One of my favourite fish soup stall thick big slices of freshest fish clear tasty soup. If you're early & lucky can order 猪脚, 菜尾 & 豆粕. Be patient & get rewarded with a satisfying meal.
