Terrible customer service! Waiting at the desk and you have to find the correct member of staff yourself as they are too lazy to find them for you or to introduce a Walkie talkie

Just returned from a very unsatisfactory visit to The Wood Yard. Briefly, the faced ply they cut for me last Friday was in my estimation and based on experience, awful. The gentleman I dealt with in the office, said I would have a refund as they could not do any better than they had. On arriving today I was met by Mr. Andy Haydock, owner/manager I believe who questioned the situation and said he wanted to discuss it. Not a polite manner from the outset. Quite honestly, this was the worst example of customer service I have ever had. My wife and I were astounded! We were told that if the measurements at each end of the piece were the same, it had to be straight! He refused to see, or could not see the curved sides or the lack of a square edge. The ridiculous amount of tear out running with the grain was silly. The company they purchased their new modern panel saw from tell me their machines should easily cope with the requirements I had if it was set up and used correctly. We had the refund although we were told we were there to discuss it and he was the top man when I pointed out his representative had already offered the refund on his company's behalf. So much for allowing staff to have discretion and supporting their decisions. Never again. Not the sort of experience one wants when buying goods!
