I live on the same block that the church's green is located. As COVID-19 continues to alter our lives in many different ways, especially how we worship as communities. The past few weeks I have heard singing coming from the church lawn area. I don't mind the singing, but it seems that all the songs are slow and dreary in tempo. I wouldn't mind hearing some up beat, hand clapping worship and praise. I feel exhausted after hearing the slow a cappella selections.
I had a nice visit and experience while attending the men's bible study for the first time. The last time I checked out this church was near 15 years ago when they took over the property from the YMCA. It was a crowd of near 15 and everyone was pleasant and some more overtly friendly than others, but that is to be expected. The study was good and sound and I got to have some good one on one conversations w/ some of the men. Having just completed my treatment for a head and neck cancer, the leadership team went out of their way to anoint and pray for me separately even when I had not asked for it. They were a blessing to me and I will more than likely revisit them.
I love FLCC. I especially love the intimate smaller environment. I think something is lost when a church becomes too big. Almost everyone knows each other in a setting like this. Pastor John is a great teacher of God's Word. He makes it clear & simple to understand so that we are able to apply it to our lives. May The Lord continue to bless FLCC. ️
I love First Love!!! It's really my second home. I have been attending here for about 5 years now and I feel that I have grown so much in my faith these past 5 years. Pastor John is a great pastor and he really cares for the flock that has been placed under his care. I love Sunday morning service and Wednesday night Bible study. The messages are straight from the Word of God and are taught verse by verse from the book of the Bible we are in, which I like a lot. I love the worship! During worship you can really sense the Holy Spirit filling the church and the believers; that unity is so awesome. Everyone is really friendly and I don't think there is anyone who would not be willing to listen to you or, of course, pray with you! This church really does put Jesus first and doesn't water down what the Word of God says. Everyone here is simply a sinner who is saved by grace; willing to admit that they need Jesus! I highly encourage you to attend a service. We have our Sunday morning services and evening service, Wednesday night Bible study, and other various ministries: Men's Ministry, Women's Ministry, Children's Ministry, Junior High Ministry, High School Ministry, Young Adult Ministry, and many more! Come and see what the Lord has in store for you!!!
