This place is kind of in the middle of nowhere, but it is beautiful country and the walk through the trails to read the signs about what happened here was well worth it. Would love to come back when the memorial is held each year. Circlingthebucketlist

26 minute film at top & bottom of the hour. Several interpretive signs/ displays. Then you drive 1 1/2 miles to the trailheads parking lot. There are 3 trails: 1) totally flat gravel 1 1/4 mile out and back to the tee-pees where the Nez-Pierce camped. 2) 1 mile out and back 50 foot elevation gain gravel trail to where the 7th Calvary camped. 3) Off this trail is a much higher elevation gain trail up into the trees where the howitzer was.

First class attraction totally worth visiting. Film was very well done Ramona was excellent in sharing insights and letting us touch and smell everything on the"touch table". Very tragic part of history, good to hear it from both sides. Beautiful views visible from the walk trails or standing inside or just outside the large nice building. Restrooms we're squeaky clean and modern. We were able to walk our dog on a leash, but not take him in the building or on the trails. If you are near this, don't miss it and watch the 25 minute film first. Awesome ️

Makes you feel like you are reliving a piece of history when walking the trails. Booklet helps you envision what happened through the testimonials. Museum and gift shop are informative. Video presentation helps put you in the context of what happened.

Powerful experience. Visitor center is top notch with the Indian voice as well as the white voice. Take both hikes to understand the horrible events of this 'battle'

Informative, was not expecting to come upon this on our drive. Loved having the history lesson. Staff was friendly and happy.

Very nice visitors center (and it was open!) Nice paths to walk area. About 4 miles if you do it all.
