As well as seeing private clients from Wrexham, NE Wales and Chester I also work on a voluntary basis as a counsellor with Ponthafren Association in Welshpool, seeing a range of adult clients. I see clients regardless of sexual, religious or cultural orientation. I have some specific areas of interest in my counselling practice: I have a particular interest in working with business owners and employees having a background working in the commercial world for over 30 years, both as an employee and as a business owner, so empathise with the challenges facing both. Mental health issues can affect all of us at any time in our lives, but for many people in business, whether an employer or employee these can interfere in their working lives with potentially massive effects. I have worked with clients facing retirement and redundancy, both business owners and employees for whom stress has got in the way of running the business, or even turning up for work, and business executives for whom other life events, such as relationship issues and bereavement issues have got in the way of their work life. Kaizen is as much a name as an approach for me, and one I offer to you as a way to start on your journey. Taken from a Japanese business idea, I have adapted it to my counselling practice and is an approach which encourages clients to start to make small positive and regular changes in their lives, as a way to address the challenges and difficult times you may be facing right now.
