I have just amended the opening days and hours on Google maps as I went on a day that it turned out to be closed - due to the Google maps info being incorrect! Check before heading out!

EUAN MACKINTOSH

Only housed in a small room. It has a wealth of information on early railways. There are excellent models and and full size relics. It has only limited opening times though and is best to check on when open. A short walk away is George Stephensons cottage where he was born. The museum however acknowledges the fact it was not him but a Cornishman Richard Trevithick who invented the first practical railway locomotive.
