This place holds the feeling of a time capsule: almost as if nothing has changed here for the past 50 years! The collection is small but larger than one might expect from such a quaint museum. Come here to enjoy some skeletons, a bit of literary history (for it is this place that served as the setting in Mikhail Bulgakov’s short story “The Fatal Eggs”), and the slightly peculiar odours.

We visitef the place with my husband and it was nice experience..
The 1st zoological museum in Moscow. Located in one of the original and very atmospheric buildings of The Moscow University. Worth of visiting, especially with kids :-)
A very nice old-school museum, its kinda funny and cosy in its vintage. First being built as a showroom for biology students of the Moscow University back in the days, it has kept this amazing and a bit naive atmosphere of old times. One might consider it rather as a museum of taxidermy. Awesome location and very reasonable prices. Never hesitate to ask for student or pensionist discounts, even if you are from abroad.
Ancient and good museum. But some information about exhibits are too old)
It's unbelievably good. Small gem. Love it!
I don't think it's worth a visit, there are only three rooms and almost no information about the exhibited animals.
Entrance is located at the corner of Bolshaya Nikitskaya st. and Nikitskiy lane. Three large halls filled with skeletons and animal bodies. Adult ticket price is 300. Ticket to Terrarium is extra 100. Cash-only.
