The idea is that there is a giant dome inside an old gas holder that shows space related mini documentaries. You lie on a beanbag and stare at the pretend-stars until you get bored, then you walk the circuit of the building admiring the photos and paintings on the wall, and leave. The image quality is not great, and the documentaries are dull. Moreover, when I was there they only looped the same three or so over and over again. They'd be better off seeing if they can license Cosmos or something else that's actually interesting. The building is gorgeous, however, and it's a great opportunity to get inside.

This place is a perfect example of how a good/nice idea turns out to be bad/terrible one. Good idea: laying down on bean bags and watching the documentary on dome ceiling. Bad part: Almost everything else. Image quality, sound, acoustic, tiny cafe and gift shop. Long queue for toilets (not enough for all those people). Language is only in Russian. A few historical pictures and a replica space shuttle and astronaut gear. That's all.. Don't make the mistake that I did. Save your money, time and effort and please go to your local movie theater instead. You'll be thanking me PS: This is Planetarium #1 (P#1), hope they won't open P#2 anywhere else..
Very controversial place. Old gasometer is a gorgeous piece of engineering! Same review goes to planetarium dome. But projectors are not perfectly aligned (far from acceptable accuracy), have different brightness. Sound system is terrible. As soon as they will fix those issues 5/5 will be guaranteed but not it is more like 3-4 out of 5 (expect to spend there no more than 15-20 minutes).
It's nice but sadly they only put movies in Russian... Not English with subtitles, which is a shame. But it is very unique and you can have a nice time looking at the exhibitions.

Currently it's converted to the planetarium, called \Planetarium One\, and, well, it's not ready. Roof is leaking, bunch of tiles on the cupola is missing, projection software is glitching, and there's only one security metal detector, so queue to the entrance is enormous. Tickets are 10 apiece, but it's really not worth it right now.
- It's not a real planetarium. There is no classical projection of the stars at times of the day and seasons. - Acoustic disaster. - The property is equipped with low budget. - It is too expensive. - Children romp around during the demonstration. - Image films about CERN Geneva are inappropriate. It's more of an IMAX dome cinema. Use of an old gasometer. Start-up business. Be careful! In the bags for sitting and lying there may be vermin.
For the price there is not a lot available but they have a unique and cozy atmosphere
