akg-images is a picture library specialised in history, fine art and photography. Our picture researchers have access to over ten million fine art and historical images, including a rich archive of stunning black and white photography, available to editorial and non-editorial clients. You can search our collection for yourself online, or contact us for free searches and let our imaginative and knowledgeable staff help you find the perfect pictures. The company was founded in Germany in November 1945 by the journalist Wilfried Göpel. We currently have three offices: the head office in Berlin, a London base which opened in 1994 and an agency in Paris which followed a year after that. Our collection continues to grow every day, with new acquisitions being sourced and added to the archive and website daily. Images are carefully selected for their historical and cultural importance and are thoroughly keyworded and captioned.
