Altaskifer AS is the marketing company for the quartzite industry in Alta, with a yearly turnover of 60 million NOK. The company is in charge of sales and marketing of Alta Quartzite products to retailers in Norway and in the international market. Products Steps and staircases – An Alta Quartzite stair makes a solid first impression, in addition to being everlasting and maintenance-free. Floor tiles – A natural non slip proof texture makes the Alta quartzite especially well suited to bath and wet rooms. Fireplaces – Quartzite is an excellent material for fireplaces, partly because of its looks, but mostly because it retains heat very well. Paving – Because quartzite is extremely durable as well as maintenance-free, it is often used for paving public areas. Flagstones – with their irregular sizes and shapes, flagstones are especially well suited for pathways and gardens. Wall cladding – With its natural look, quartzite can successfully be combined with other materials as wood, concrete, glass and steel. Exterior fireplaces – Being able to withstand temperature changes, heat, cold, sun and pollution, quartzite is ideal for chimneys, outdoor fireplaces, barbecues and so on. Natural brick walls – With its combination of natural beauty and high durability, Alta Quartzite is frequently used along roads for roundabouts, tunnel entrances, underpasses etc. Drywalls (bricks) – Alta Quartzite's natural layering is perfect for masonry, and it can be reused any number of times.
