Amara works to ensure that every child in foster care has the love, support and comfort of a committed family – as quickly as possible, and for as long as each child needs. Fostering and Adopting: We guide, prepare, and support foster families to ensure that every kid in foster care can be placed in a stable, long-term, loving home. Emergency Sanctuary: Our Emergency Sanctuary program, which operates facilities in King and Pierce County, ensures that kids who have just been removed from their homes have a safe, child-centered place to land while state social workers determine the best long-term placement for each child. Post Adoption Services: Our Post-Adoption services support Amara adoptees and their families through community-building, mentorship, education, and more. Amara is welcomes families into our program regardless of marital status, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, home ownership, income, or education. Amara enables individuals, communities, and larger organizations to overcome accessibility and language barriers for online video. Amara is a nonprofit organization devoted to creating a better path for kids in foster care.
