The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Kansas City is part of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the Holy Metropolis of Denver, under the spiritual guidance of His Eminence Metropolitan Isaiah of Denver. Our mission is to love God with all our heart, soul, strength and mind and our neighbors as ourselves. While this parish was established in downtown Kansas City over 100 years ago in 1910 and has been in its present location since the late 1970s, Orthodox Christianity has spanned the globe since 33 AD. Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church was originally founded by a small group of Greek immigrants, but today aptly reflects the American experience, and is comprised of individuals and families representing many other nationalities all witnessing to the Good News of Jesus Christ, striving to reflect His love, and living according to the principles and discipline of the Orthodox Church. Today, the Annunciation in Kansas City is a vibrant community of men and women from every background and age, adhering to Orthodox Christian principles that are concurrently Scriptural, Traditional, Apostolic and Eucharistic. This Church family continually searches for dynamic ways to serve the Lord, manifest the light of Christ to the world and try to address the needs of all of God’s people. The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation of Sacramento, California, founded in 1920, is the oldest Greek Orthodox parish between the San Francisco Bay Area and Salt Lake City. Our Parish is the Mother Church of the Greek Orthodox parishes in Modesto, Stockton, Elk Grove, Redding, and Roseville, California, as well as Reno, Nevada. Having already built two houses of worship, the first in 1921 and then our present sanctuary in 1952, we are now raising funds to complete our new Annunciation Hellenic Center on our current site. An extremely active and large parish of more than 500 supporting families, we are part of the Metropolis of San Francisco, under His Eminence Metropolitan Gerasimos and of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America under the jurisdiction of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople.
