Astra Research is an engineering and applied research company which provides consultancy about state-of-the-art design, in the field of mechanical detail test (experimental tests and optimization on mechanical components), in the fem ( finite element method) calculation and in the material and machine testing. The company develops innovative solutions and technological transfers through consultancy services tailored to meet the client’s requirements. Astra Research was founded in 2008 as an academic spin-off of the engineering department “Enzo Ferrari” of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. The entrepreneurial idea arose within the machine construction group operating within the machine design group operating with the department supervised by professor Antonio Strozzi. The experience gained by each member of the group has been put inside Astra Research, which is works for small, medium, large Italian and International Companies. Thanks to an excellent command of calculus instruments and deep knowledge of the theories in the mechanical field, the members of the company have achieved important levels concerning the product optimization (as shown in several scientific studies recognized internationally). This combination of theoretical and practical competences is seldom met in such companies. MISSION: Astra Research aims to give further value to the competences and know-how gained within University Research about stress analysis, modelling, testing, component and set designing which operate under difficult conditions, through the offer of services supporting innovation and creating job opportunities.
