In 1993, Atlanta Bread began as a small sandwich cafe tucked away in Sandy Springs – a suburb of Atlanta, Georgia. We quickly became a fast-growing concept that answered a unique need – to satisfy appetites with fresh, quality food in a casual, friendly setting. The Atlanta Bread concept proved to be so appealing the company began offering franchise opportunities in 1995. Our philosophy is simple: we use fine ingredients and traditional methods to produce exceptional sandwiches, salads, soups, and pastries. Atlanta Bread offers gift cards, online ordering*, and online catering* for group events. Atlanta Bread Company International, Inc. operates as a special purpose entity. The Company offers bagels, panini, pasta, pizza, salads, sandwiches, soups, and pastries, as well as catering services. Atlanta Bread serves group events, franchiser, and other clients in Georgia. You might say this café company kneads to succeed. Atlanta Bread Company International operates and franchises more than 80 bakery cafés in about two dozen states. The chain serves sandwiches made with a variety of freshly baked breads, including ciabatta, foccacia, pumpernickel, and sourdough. Its menu also includes soups and salads. Customers can also purchase bread by the loaf, along with freshly made bagels, cookies, muffins, and pastries. Nearly all the Atlanta Bread Bakery Cafés are operated by franchisees. Brothers Bob and Rick Auffenberg opened the first Atlanta Bread café in 1993. South African-born brothers Jerry and Basil Couvaras bought into the venture and began franchising in 1995.
