Barrel Associates International (BAI) is a French, American and Hungarian Oak wine barrel company founded in 1990. BAI is the exclusive distributor for Tonnellerie Dargaud et Jaegle (including Marcel Cadet) and Tonnellerie Vallaurine French oak barrels in North America and for Barrel Associates American oak barrels, sold worldwide. Dargaud & Jaegle’s unique water-bending process conducts heat from an oak fire deeply into the wood to create a subtle and sophisticated spiciness that is unmatched by any other barrel. Marcel Cadet Barrels The Marcel Cadet water bent barrel uses 36 month seasoned wood. Midway through seasoning, the wood stacks are sorted and re-stacked, creating a favorite flavor complement to many handcrafted wines. Trusting only his best stave suppliers to provide him with the finest tight-grained oak from Troncais, Jupilles, Fontainebleau and Darney, Jean-Marcel Jaegle crafts an ultra-premium barrel that honors his father’s legacy. This exquisite barrel is available in several styles, including Burgundy Traditional, Burgundy Export and Bordeaux Transport. Barrel Associates American Oak Barrels For over 20 years, Barrels Associates International has been developing and producing the finest American oak wine barrels. When one or more of its traditional or innovative bending and toasting regimes are involved, a wine gains luscious depth, complexity and palate length. Tonnellerie Vallaurine The Vallaurine cooperage, owned by the Jaegle family, is unique to the Rhône Valley. The Jaegles use their same expert wood selection process and cooper fire-bent barrels in the Burgundian or Bordeaux style, 500L casks and demi-muids.
