Birralee International School provides an English-speaking education for children aged 4–16 living in Trondheim, central Norway. The Australian founder gave the school the name 'Birralee' meaning a 'safe place for children'. The school is non-profit and co-educational. Our curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, an internationally recognised high quality curriculum used in many international and English speaking schools throughout the world. The curriculum has been modified to suit the needs of international students and also to meet the requirements of the Norwegian National Curriculum. The curriculum is approved by the Norwegian Department of Education and Research. Our students participate in the Norway’s National tests and have the possibility to take IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) exams. The school is approved as a University of Cambridge exam centre and is a member of the European Council of International Schools.
