Black Cat Cruises has been proudly cruising the waters of Akaroa and Lyttelton, near Christchurch New Zealand since 1985. Recognised as one of New Zealand's eco-tourism pioneers they were the first to offer daily Akaroa Harbour Nature Cruises and the first operator in New Zealand to offer Swimming With Dolphins. Over this period they have won many awards including the Tourism Industry Aotearoa award for Business Excellence as well as the Supreme New Zealand tourism award. They are recognised by Lonely Planet as one of the top 10 Marine Mammal activities in the world, hold the Enviro-Gold certification from Qualmark, listed as the # 1 bucket list activity to do in NZ and have been voted number 3 in the 101 AA must do activities, with over 100,000 votes. Black Cat Cruises offer six cruise experiences and there’s something for all budgets with prices ranging from the $12.40 Diamond Harbour ferry to the $160 Akaroa dolphin swim. They also provide charter cruises in Lyttelton and the world-famous Akaroa Harbour Nature Cruises. A portion of every Akaroa ticket sale goes back towards the education and research of the endangered Hector's (New Zealand) dolphin.
