In turn-of-the century Newport, Rhode Island, where life was lived on a grand scale and elegance and sophistication in home furnishings was at its zenith, Mrs. Blanche P. Field, founder of the company, was called upon to create luxurious lampshades for the great houses of Bellevue Avenue. The Blanche Field tradition of applying old-world craftsmanship to the finest materials to create luminous, one of a kind lampshades continues today in our workshops in Boston and in our Manhattan studio.
