The Boston Fencing Club was founded in 1858 with the purpose of advancing the sport of fencing in the United States. Since that time, it has become one of the leading fencing institutions in the country. With decades of nationally and internationally successful fencers, the Club has consistently maintained a high level of fencing instruction over its 150+ year history. Fencing at the BFC develops athletic skills as well as mental skills in a healthy and safe environment of individual and team competition. The discipline involved in training and achieving fencing goals translates well to the academic, business and professional worlds. Alumni of the BFC include influential members of the business, legal, educational, healthcare, military, engineering and scientific research communities.
