Established in 1981, Britcom International Limited was initially a specialist exporter of used commercial vehicles. The company expanded rapidly throughout the 1980's establishing a strong presence in African, Caribbean and Far Eastern Markets as well as a small UK sales operation. By 1987 larger premises were required to house the creation of a new spare parts department and enabling the company to have its own workshop and paintshop to carry out refurbishment of trucks in-house. Diversification occurred in the early 1990's with a move into used plant machinery and the acquisition of a chassis engineering business. Throughout the 1990's Britcom continued to develop its global reputation for supplying quality equipment, with unrivalled after-sales support in documentation and parts. This led to the move to the current 14-acre premises in 2006. The purpose built site comprises modern offices, workshops and a paintshop, plus a storage yard for over 300 vehicles. To expand our presence in the Kenyan market, we also acquired HVPS in Nairobi, enabling us to service a growing customer base requiring local financing, with a multi-brand used truck offering. Recent years have seen a significant growth in the UK side of the business, both from a used truck perspective and also with the engineering and bodyshop departments expanding their external clientele. This was further aided by the opening in 2015 of our Manchester depot. We are now geared up to continue to take advantage of exciting new opportunities and develop both our export and UK business.
