Our exclusive School Alert Weather Service is specifically geared to save you time and money with a pinpoint forecast prepared specifically for your school district. This is unlike most forecasts you receive over the radio or television, which covers a much larger geographical area and can't focus on exact locations of snow vs. rain lines and icing situations. The Winter Alert Service consists of the following…. • Contact by phone or email at least 24 hours before an impending storm with an update consisting of our thinking on accumulations, timing, special circumstances etc • Txt updates prior and during the storm • Email updates throughout the storm • Weekly Forecast sent Sunday Nights • Consultation- You or your team can call anytime, 24x& 7 • Additional Forecasts- Forecasts for sporting events or other locations as needed • Forecasts and guidance are based on some of the most accurate weather models, micro climate data and a network of weather spotters/local weather stations and cameras Snowfall Measuring Service SnowForce has been providing definite and accurate snowfall amounts to clients for many years. The SnowForce team works with hundreds of trained weather observers across the Bay State making up one the most reliable, accurate and in depth network of spotters in the country. Our spotters are individually trained and provide reports several times during the storm, not just the amount left on the ground at the end of the storm…which can vary greatly (+ or -) depending on the precise weather conditions, temperature and storm history. How does the SnowForce program work? Using several networks of trained observers, we are able to more accurately determine the total amount of snow that fell DURING a storm, not just the amount left on the ground at the end. Our observers know that snow "settles" onto itself, and needs to be "cleared" every six hours in order to be measured accurately according to the National Weather Service’s snowfall certification. Working with clients for over 30 years, SnowForce has extensive experience in winter weather and snow storms. For example, we know what areas usually receive the heaviest or least amount of snow in certain situations. This combined with our trained observer network makes for a snowstorm measuring service that no other company or web based snowfall service can match.
