Brown Cow Organics are artisan producers specialising in bringing you the very best local fresh live organic yoghurt and organic beef. We produce on our organic Somerset family farm our own retail Organic Yoghurt brand exclusive to independents and hospitality Organic Yoghurts for the service trade. We also make River Cottage organic yoghurts for Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, also for the independent retail sector. All our yoghurts are produced daily ONLY from the morning’s milking of our Guernsey herd from their A2 beta-casein protein rich whole milk (which is only 5% fat). Our Guernsey herds are all born raised and grazed on our 480 organic acres. Only natural and organic ingredients without artificial colours, additives or preservatives (and GMO/Gluten free) go into the making of our multi award winning yoghurts. Lightly pasteurised, never homogenised nor pumped, our artisan process produces naturally thick rich yoghurt without using emulsifiers, stabilisers or thickeners. Our beef is hung till it practically falls off the bone and is cut at our own butchery; available online to consumers, via Lidgates London and Somerset Farmers Markets. Our herd is one of only two organically registered Guernsey herds in the country. Our organic milk is the only tested A2 beta casein rich protein (some claim the presence of the gene but have not DNA sampled.) As a result of our astute detail to our cows’ nutrition, our herd has the lowest incidence of disease above all other conventional and organic dairy herds in the country; our wholemilk is packed full of trace elements and has a most favourable omega3:6 ratio (as proven by independent analysis.) All ingredients and packaging are sourced locally except those organic ingredients where only other countries climate to grow such crops successfully are necessary. Our organic produce, farm and nutritional ethos have won us over thirty two awards to date and still counting.
