Founded by Southern tastemaker and retail entrepreneur Laura Vinroot Poole, Capitol is a luxury fashion boutique that features designs from Erdem, Giambattista Valli, Balenciaga, Saint Laurent, Gucci, along with high-end jewelry and accessories by Irene Neuwirth, Marie-Helene de Taillac, and The Gem Palace. Established in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1997, the flagship location was designed by Perry Poole and features a spacious courtyard with a beautiful vertical garden created by famed French botanist Patrick Blanc. Capitol Brentwood is the newest addition to the Capitol umbrella joining sister stores Capitol Charlotte, Poole Shop, and men’s store TABOR. Laura Vinroot Poole and long-time friend jewelry designer Irene Neuwirth opened Capitol’s second location in March 2019 in the historic Brentwood Country Mart – a beloved retail village located in West Los Angeles originally founded in 1948. Capitol Brentwood features an Irene Neuwirth shop-in-shop and a unique assortment including designers such as Dries Van Noten, Valentino, Rosie Assoulin, Peter Pilotto, and emerging designers like Joanna Ortiz, Lisa Marie Fernandez, HVN, and The Vampire’s Wife. Capitol, LLC was founded in 1997. The Company's line of business includes reproducing text, drawings, plans, maps, blueprinting, photocopying, mimeographing, printing, and microfilming.
