Carreducker Bespoke Carreducker are a small, independent bespoke shoemakers, creating footwear to commission at their bespoke studio in Shoreditch; at Gieves & Hawkes, 1 Savile Row; and at James Purdey & Son, South Audley Street, London. Founders, Deborah Carre and James Ducker, completed traditional shoemaking apprenticeships and worked in the industry, before setting up their own business, Carreducker in 2004. Their work now features in the Permanent Exhibition at the Design Museum, London and they received the Marsh Heritage Trust Made in Britain Award 2017 and the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust Award for Excellence 2018. The Carreducker Shoe & Leather School, Shoreditch Education and training are a key aspect of the business, championing the handsewn shoe making craft and enthusing a new generation of customers and makers. Working with industry experts, they teach a variety of introductory and masterclass workshops in shoe making and leather work including: - Evening shoe making classes three nights a week in London - Introduction to shoe making - hand lasting and hand welting - 12-day traditional handsewn shoe making course - Footwear pattern making courses for bespoke shoe making - Saddle stitch card case, key fob and i-Pad folio workshops - Glove making workshops - Shoe care masterclasses They also run corporate events, team building activities and group parties so that everyone can reconnect with the pleasure and mindfulness that working with your hands brings. Carreducker London Deborah & James also work with small artisanal British manufacturers and produce very limited runs of ready to wear shoes for men and women from time to time. To date they have launched a summer slip-on; a desert boot made in Suffolk, the Barkan; and a rugged work boot made in Derbyshire, the Tor boot.
