Overview
An iconic piece of English heritage and important Bristol landmark, the Clifton Observatory which is located high up on Clifton Down and above the Avon Gorge is a must-see attraction for tourists and local residents of all ages. Originally built in 1766, it was used as a mill before it was partially destroyed in 1777 and left derelict until 1828. Complete with one of the only Camera Obscura’s open to the public in England and Ghyston’s cave, it offers truly breath taking views of the Clifton Suspension bridge, the city of Bristol and outstanding panoramic views of the Avon Gorge. We are pleased to announce that we are now a fully functioning events venue, we can accommodate for a variety of events including; Conferences, Meetings, Presentations, Awards and Dinners as well as Weddings, Birthday parties and private functions.
