Established in 1961, the DIA operates offices at both the Pentagon and the Defense Intelligence Analysis Center in Washington, DC, the Armed Forces Medical Intelligence Center in Frederick, Maryland, and the Missile and Space Intelligence Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The agency has 16,500 civilian and military employees.
