Festival van Vlaanderen Kortrijk (Flanders Festival Kortrijk) is part of the Flanders Festival network (http://www.festival.be). Eight festivals are organized in Antwerp, Bruges, Brussel, Ghent, Kortrijk, Leuven, Mechelen and Tongeren. Each festival has an independent management and artistic philosophy. Flanders Festival Kortrijk concentrates on three fields: - concerts: inclusive but not exclusive classical music; - sound art: Klinkende Stad is yearly exhbition in the centre of Kortrijk showing international sound art; - educational projects. Flanders Festival Kortrijk presents and (co)produces projects. Flanders Festival Kortrijk is member of two European networks: - MuzeMuse: a network with Concertgebouw Brugge, MAfestival, Cultuurcentrum Kortrijk, Opéra de Lille, Théâtre d'Arras, Orchestre National de Lille defending and promoting classical and contemporary classical music in the euroregion between Bruges, Kortrijk and Lille; - Resonance: a network with Stichting Intro/In Situ (Maastricht, NL), Hörgalerie Singuhr (Berlin, DE), Lydgalleriet (Bergen, NO), Skanu Mezs (Riga, LV), Audio Art Festival (Krakau, PL) and Association Bazar (Lille, FR). The network produces new work by European sound artists as a result of residencies in three European cities.
