From natural gas, electricity and natural gas for transportation to propane, thermal energy and Renewable Natural Gas, we energize BC. While safety and service are paramount, we also believe in encouraging energy efficiency and developing new energy solutions. Lower Mainland natural gas operations are based out of the Surrey office and provides service to customers across the province. A natural gas customer contact centre and billing operations is also located in Burnaby. In northern BC, a second natural gas customer contact centre is located in Prince George. Our southern interior electricity operations are based out of the Kelowna office and provides service to customers directly and indirectly throughout the southern interior, with both the electricity contact centre and IT operations located in Trail. FortisBC delivers approximately 21 per cent of the total energy consumed in British Columbia, which is the most energy delivered by any utility in the province. Whether delivering electricity, natural gas or propane, our more than 2,260 employees serve approximately 1.1 million customers in 135 communities.FortisBC owns and operates approximately 47,500 kilometres of natural gas transmission and distribution pipelines and approximately 7,200 kilometres of transmission and distribution power lines.
