GEOMAP is an independent service company (Ltd), based in Florence, Italy. The company has the specific object of providing consulting and services to public entities, private firms and research institution involved in - engineering projects and works - water resources assessment and management - search and evaluation of mineral and energy resources - land planning and management - protection of the environment and of the natural and cultural heritage. GEOMAP experts are geologists with a specific skill in the applications of remote sensing and GIS. GEOMAP experience dates back to 1958 and is based on more than 600 projects, carried out throughout the world and covering more than 35 million square kilometers. GEOMAP offers expertise in the following fields: - Applications of remote sensing to geology, geomorphology, hydrogeology, land and environmental analysis; image processing and interpretation; - Environmental impact studies; - Land use apping, land classification, location and mapping of archaeological sites - Engineering geology; site selection and study; location of sources of construction materials; study of landslides, assessment of slope stability; - Location and evaluation of waste disposal sites; study of polluted areas for recovery; - Data capture and processing for GIS implementation. - Technical assistance and personnel training; GEOMAP experience is based on more than 600 projects, carried out throughout the world and covering more than 35 million square kilometers.
