Over the years we have changes a lot. Here's a little history: • 1885 we were known as Grant County Charity Hospital • 1937 we became the Swift Memorial Hospital • 1957 the name changed to Silver City General Hospital • 1959 we were known as The Hillcrest Hospital • 1969 Grant County became the owners of the Hospital • 1983 to present we are known as Gila Regional Medical Center LOCATION: Nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 6,000 feet, Silver City borders the Continental Divide.
