The Golden Toad was born on the beaches of San Diego California in the early 1990's. I worked my way through San Diego State University in the restaurant business. After much encouragement from friends and family I produced a few of my recipes commercially and my wife Sara and I launched the company in March of 2004 at the National Fiery Foods and BBQ Show in Albuquerque, NM. Since that first show we have added a few products, started a Competition BBQ Team and began catering events. The company continues to grow and has allowed us to give a little back. Our registered tag line is "Saving the Planet One Tongue at a Time." We believe strongly in our trademarked slogan and we currently donate a portion of our annual proceeds to worthy charities including the Children's Hospital, the Denver Zoo, and the Colorado Wildlife Heritage Foundation. People often ask me about the name. Well, my Dad called me Toad growing up. And while studying for my Bachelors Degree at SDSU I learned of an extinct species that was once endemic to the Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica, the Golden Toad. It all seemed to fit together, so my roommate, a graphic design artist, and I began working on a logo and the Golden Toad came alive. We take pride in producing single batch, hand crafted, sauces, and seasonings. We use the freshest ingredients and believe that you will notice the difference.
