Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust is one of the largest Building Preservation Trusts in the UK and seeks to promote and protect vulnerable sites of historic and archaeological interest. It was established in 1997 as A Society For the Friends of Gwrych (ASFOG) by Mark Baker, becoming Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust in 2001 and a registered charity. The aim of Gwrych Trust is to raise the awareness of the castle’s plight and to establish a solution for the conservation and preservation of Gwrych Castle. Because of the work of volunteers and supporters from all over the world, a huge amount has been achieve. The Trust has been instrumental in overseeing developments with the guidance of many national organisations and has sought the backing of the Local Planning Authority, who assisted, in conjunction with Cadw, in securing the building. By leading a high profile publicity campaign, public lectures, exhibitions and establishing the Gwrych Castle Trust Archive, the Trust has been placed in a prominent position both nationally and locally. Today, the Trust’s principal aim is to support the restoration and preservation of the castle, together with documenting the estate’s history. Interested individuals can join the Gwrych Castle Trust, and become a part of its ever continuing story. Gwrych Castle Preservation Trust is a registered charity, and members of the public should be aware that the charity has an officially registered address and that no other address or body is authorised to conduct work on behalf of the Trust.
